Nose

Sawdust and new oak. Really thick dark fruit notes – stewed plum and blackcurrant jam. Rye bread. Caramelised banana. Coconut macaroon. Black peppercorn, clove, and porcini mushroom.

Palate

Medium. Homemade blackcurrant ice cream. Creamy dark chocolate, like ganache. Black tea with dried red fruits. Honey on rye toast. Orange-peel oils. A little maple syrup and hazelnut.

Finish

Medium-long. Creamy vanilla ice cream tames the oak tannins.

Comment

The wood influence is clear but nicely balanced.
