A divine nose, yet only a charming palate. Still a lovely whisky.

Nose: Nice as they come. Tiramisu, with walnuts, orange marmalade and black tea. Settles to floral notes, before dried fruits, figs, cranberries and glacé cherries.
Palate: Heavy on the wood, ginger and cinnamon, black pepper. Sweetness rushes through, though it’s muted by walnuts and hazelnuts, black fruits and balsamic vinegar.
Finish: Warming, and tannic, with hazelnuts, blackcurrants and an elderberry tartness.
Comment: A divine nose, yet only a charming palate. Still a lovely whisky.
Score: 8.5
Taster
Nose: Thick, frothy, steamed milk, coffee grinds and chocolate. Orange peel, dried apricots and berry notes. Lovely florality, daffodils and late season notes.
Palate: Saw mill and dunnage warehousing wood notes. Laced with spices; clove and powdered ginger. Very buttery and clingy. Fruit and nut, with fresh nibbed almonds.
Finish: Engaging with a cheek sucking tannin note. Balances with the fruit and nut.
Comment: Very well put together with great layers of aroma and flavour, recommended.
Score: 8.2
