Nose

Summer fruits with an oily, seed-like grip, like blackcurrant jam smothered on warm rye bread with cracked black pepper. Some milk chocolate and raisins.

Palate

Dry yet oily, while that intense berry fruitiness dominates proceedings. Sunflower oil, dusty maltbins, black pepper and a glass of neat Ribena. There’s a delicate spiciness and hint of menthol.

Finish

Spicy, dry and a touch mentholic – that rye bread takes the parting shot.

An English single malt with a fruity rye character. Fascinating stuff.
