Nose
Fruity. It’s like making marmalade then sealing the jars with wax. Some allspice and clove then marzipan and toffee. A classic example of a mature malt.
Palate
Rasps and coal dust then dried lavender, sage and heather blossom. The waxiness returns with water. Vibrant but obviously aged.
Finish
Seems to vapourise at the end leaving memories of orchid, honeysuckle and spice.
Comment
This is quite a ride and one well worth taking. I’m enjoying this!
