Taster

Nose: Slightly oily/resinous with good soft mallty notes, orange (pulp and peel) tea leaf and cream.

Palate: Soft with good palate weight. Some prune-like fruit, olive stone, treacle and crisp malt. Good feel.

Finish: Long fruity/malty. Liquorice?

Comment: Good strong spirit that's in balance with the wood. Young but beginning to hit its stride.

Taster

Nose: Darjeeling tea. Dry Oloroso sherry.

Palate: Rich and smooth, but supple. Emphatically malty. Cookie flavours. Butter. Distinctly fruity. Sweet red apple. Flowering currant.

Finish: Toast and ginger marmalade. A hint of smoke.

Comment: Modern-day Macallan. Full of flavour but neither cloying nor overwhelming.
