Tasting Notes

Taster

Nose: Cereals – granola in the morning. Buttery, shortbread and those caramel syrup waffles you have with coffee. Great fruits come through, cranberry, apple and plum skins.

Palate: Follows the nose to the letter. Crunchy grain notes enveloped in chocolate and a buttery short crust note. A peppery tone.

Finish: Long and really rich, a little buttery oiliness and then that pepper note.

Comment: For what might be a young grain whisky this is pretty epic, moves you all over the place. Perfect balance and swagger.

Score: 9.1

Taster

Nose: Apples and pears – plenty of them too. Warm Danish pastries. Fruit compote.

Palate: Pepper and warm sourdough opens up front. Oak dries it out a little bit as things develop, but sweetness remains through more of that jam/compote note. Chocolate sponge.

Finish: Warm, freshly brewed coffee. Sweet and middle length. A little vanilla for good measure as well.

Comment: Everything is really well measured and each note is pronounced perfectly. Sweet. If you're looking for your first grain you won't look back.
