Nose: Flat out spice races through, chilli, cardamom and black pepper, then settles into milk chocolate and hazelnuts. Goat's cheese with borage honey on oatcakes. A lovely cereal note.
Palate: Menthol, then orange jelly and chocolate sprinkles, trifle – fruit, cream and chocolate. Like well oak-aged chardonnay. Green tea tannins.
Finish: Sharp and then all malty, sweet cereal, cornflakes and sugar. White chocolate and tonka bean.
Comment: A belter from the English grain scene, excellent stuff.

Nose: A tangy sweetness to this one, with real mintiness. Sugar and cinnamon. Poached pears and barley fruit squash. Freshly squeezed pink grapefruit juice.
Palate: More of that mint note, which is pronounced and drawn out. Vanilla chocolates. White grape juice and a little mango. Becomes a little drying right at the end.
Finish: Lingers with you a while. That grapefruit from the nose comes back – a welcome return.
Comment: Another enjoyable grain whisky.
Score: 8.5
