Nose
Sour. Dry cider. Humus. Wet leaves. Tobacco. Damp oak floor. A kind of musty character. Like entering a house which has been closed for months.
Palate
Sweet and bitter. Oak is overwhelming. A strange sweet character framed by a bitter oaky flavour. Not much more. Faint dried pears.
Finish
Dry, bitter and compact.
Comment
That whisky has lost its balance. Oak acts like an assertive screen.
