Tasting Notes

Taster

Nose: Fruit juice, melon, banana milkshake and a tight grassiness coupled with whittled sticks, woodsmoke. Water makes it more plain with a light marine touch. Seems young.

Palate: Very hard and quite firm with a sweet centre lurking. Water doesn't loosen it. Immature with a slight chemical flavour.

Finish: Flinty, hard then starts to loosen.

Comment: Nothing wrong, just bottled too early.

Score: 7

Taster

Nose: Lots of vanilla sweetness, pears, smoked almonds, and wood smoke. A minerally character with creosote and ash. With time and water, more floral, pot pourri elements appear. Parma violets.

Palate: Again, minerally with that floral element lying above the earth and smoke.

Finish: Ash and parma violets.

Comment: Fairly typical of the distillery, and a solid, tasty example.
