Tasting Notes

Taster

Nose: Fresh juicy oranges with a light lemon note too. Like opening a box of recently picked strawberries. Underneath there's pencil shavings and wet newspaper.

Palate: A little like the final layer of trifle, mixed fruit in jelly. Big waves of juicy fruit.\rSome spice gives it a bit of a kick.

Finish: Sweet and very engaging.

Comment: One for a long summers night, possibly with a light cigar.

Score: 7.5

Taster

Nose: Light and aromatic:raffia, marshmallow and a touch of strawberry. Light citrus (orange) and honey, but there's huge oak influence here:sawmills and sweet sap.

Palate: Completely different to the nose: it's juicy, syrupy and ripe with tinned fruit salad (grapes, pears and apricots) and baked apple before a spicy heat comes through.

Finish: Long and sweet.

Comment: Lovely balance. A slow sipper.
