Nose
Slightly dusty, honeycomb and malt. A nice bit of light fruit: red-skinned apples and fresh pears.
Palate
Waxy, vanilla sponge cake, lemon curd, apple pastries, and some chilli heat and grassiness later on. Sweetness blossoms with water.
Finish
A bit drying, with a good bit of heat. Spicy tingle calms with some water.
Comment
A pleasant classic Speyside whisky — easygoing, even with that higher ABV, thanks to the intrinsic sweetness.
