Tasting Notes

Taster

Nose: A little punchy with plenty of vanilla and honey laden porridge. There is sweetness from tinned peaches and hot buttered corn bread. Then fennel and chilli hit and gentle menthol.

Palate: Hot at first with that fennel and chilli spice wave, then earthy tones with ground ginger and all spice. There’s hazelnut and milk chocolate too.

Finish: Just keeps on going, starts with a little sharp sour note of pickled chilli and oak spices, then sweetens into brown sugar.

Comment: A delight. More here than meets the eyes at first.

Score: 8.6

Taster

Nose: Fresh and fragrant with baked apple, rosemary, oregano and chargrilled bread with duck and orange pate. Cookie dough and freshly baked scones smothered in cream cheese.

Palate: Salted cookie dough, icing sugar and oat crumble biscuits with dried apple.Roasted hazelnuts start to overpower the initial fresh grassy tones.

Finish: Fruity and juicy with an abrupt finish.

Comment: Like walking through the bakery first thing in the morning.
