Nose

Light and malty to start, with notes of buttered toast, apricot jam, golden syrup, and then something brighter, like warm pineapple.

Palate

A really nice dusty book note, then that pineapple comes to the fore — roasted this time — before some blackcurrant and honeysuckle, and a touch of earthiness and ash.

Finish

Long and sticky, with a slightly bitter edge.
