A well structured old lad but it seems to have lost some vigour. The palate is still vivid but the nose is weakening

Nose: Restrained if not bland. Pleasant fruitiness. Autumn fruit. Over-ripe pears, medlars. Almonds
Palate: Smooth, velvety. A pleasant interlace of fruit and oak, covered by a veil of softspices
Finish: Reasonably long, spicy with a nutty aftertaste
Comment: A well structured old lad but it seems to have lost some vigour. The palate is still vivid but the nose is weakening
Score: 7.8
Taster
Nose: Quite slick and sweet. Upfront. Toffee bars. Gentle smooth and appetising with light oakiness licking at the outer edges. Fresh cigar (unlit). In time becomes more rigid and angular
Palate: Clean and nuttier than expected from such a lush nose. hazelnut. mature mellow oak. Chewy and long
Finish: Honey and caramel
Comment: Maybe lacks the extra spark that makes it complex but a delicious sweet dram nonetheless
Score: 7.8
