Nose: Some many layers it unwraps like a flower. Cracked pepper and a little clove. That dry dustiness is back. Some citrus notes.
Palate: The spices grip through a sweetness, but the layers of citrus and sweetness balance out well.
Finish: Lush and floral.
Comment: Manhattan time. A benchmark rye.
Score: 8.9
Taster
Nose: Floral and delicate. Freesia.Rose syrup. White pepper. Hint of jasmine tea. Orange blossom honey. Red currant jelly. A real delight.
Palate: Silky. Sweet at start but soon dry spices push it on the grippy side. But yet the fruit and spices find a good balance. Turkish delight. That rose note lingers elegantly.
Finish: Rose, rose, rose...
Comment: An unusual floral profile for a rye. But delightful. What a nose!
Score: 8.8
