Normally I would complain about the palate not displaying the exuberance of the nose, but I can’t moan at all about the depth and quality!

Nose: Impressive! Immensely fruity: peach, pear, mango, pineapple, sprinkled with sugar. Subtly oaked, with late earthy and citric notes which balances.
Palate: Less exuberant, but still lovely. Malt and sweet biscuits with barley and honey. Hints of mature oak, banana and apricot.
Finish: Long and fresh as the citrus kicks in with a touch of sweet but earthy peat.

Nose: There is some good age on this, or at least a well-matured whisky. Cricket ball leather, and some lanolin too. Soft and inviting.
Palate: otes of hazelnut and cream. Linseed oil and vanilla as well. That lanolin/wool note is there, in a lovely way, like a welcoming warm blanket. Some smoked brisket notes.
Finish: Soft sugar, old leather and notes of oak and light smo
Comment: This is a stunning dram, which hits each ball in an over for six and is approaching a century.
Score: 9.4
