Nose: Farmyard with freshly cut hay, goats' cheese and honey. A white pepper spice note. Dark chocolate. Thick set really dark honey, stewed apples and a hint of lemon zest. A saline edge to it.
Palate: Black cherries, whipped creamy goats' cheese. Wood notes, pencil shavings and vanilla pods. A touch of rose water and cola cubes. That sea salt edge is here too.
Finish: Rosehip tea with a gentle wood grip at the end.
Comment: A punchy and spicy rye with that intriguing saline edge. Great stuff.
Score: 8.4

Nose: A pick ‘n’ mix bag at the cinema full of salt water taffy, foam bananas, rum and raisin fudge and Irn Bru bars. Sweetness develops into kiwi skin, cashew nuts and dried apricots.
Palate: Fudge, fudge and more fudge – rum and raisin, banana and coconut! Subtle hints of linseed oil, freshly steamed laundry, crushed juniper berries and violin rosin.
Finish: The initial flavours fade quickly leaving a fragrant note.
Comment: Comparable to devouring an entire fudge market stall. An unusual rye.
Score: 7.5
