Taster

Nose: Fat and slightly hot when neat. Boiled sweets, oak, red liquorice, wholemeal bread. Milk chocolate, charred wood.

Palate: Not quite the full-on delivery you expect. Soft to start, then crisps nicely. peanut butter and lightrose. The oak is held to the back of the palate.

Finish: Tobacco leaf.

Comment: Honest and well made.

Score: 7.4

Taster

Nose: Nutty with a distinctive oaky profile. Toasted nuts, praline. Hint of old leather. Toblerone. Opens on toffee.

Palate: Very smooth and intense. Oak is showing but is very well integrated. Layers of melting milk chocolate and\rtoasted piedmont hazelnuts.

Finish: Long, lingering on dried fruit with a dry spicy conclusion.

Comment: A rich and deep well matured whisky. Enticing, elegant and conversational.
