Nose: Maderia cake, oak and custard creams. Oranges packed in cardboard boxes. Honey and lemon lozenges. Wood smoke on cotton shirts.
Palate: Full on Angostura Bitters spices, oranges and citrus. Big punchy sherry-soaked raisins and prunes in syrup. A little creaminess.
Finish: Big and tingly with cloves and chilli spices numbing the palate. Then dries slowly with the spice.

Taster
Nose: Nose: Butterscotch and toasted walnuts, tea-soaked prunes, treacle tart and roasted ham, raisins and oven-roasted tomatoes, then gentle sulphur: spent matches, petrichor, hot roads after a thunderstorm.
Palate: Treacle tart and big chocolatey hits like chocolate covered raisins and Cadbury’s Fruit and Nut bar.
Finish: Chocolatey with rising spice: cinnamon, nutmeg and cardamom spice prickle.
Comment: Big punches of flavour, big sweetness and big spice. A little one-dimensional, but a good quality whisky nonetheless.
Score: 8.8
