Nose: Another one that starts in the dunnage warehouse, that tang of damp earth. Some dried fruits, espresso beans and rich cocoa.
Palate: Mellow autumnal notes, sherbert dips. The sweet edge of fresh orange juice and a little bitter liquorice.
Finish: Short and drying with hints of sweet grainy homemade tablet.
Comment: A great well looked after dram, a venerable age but still show some freshness.

Taster
Nose: Deep, oaky. Damp warehouse. Earthy. A sweet note in the back. Vanilla toffee. Ground coriander. Sherried. Dark chocolate, touch of ground coffee.
Palate: Sweet at start then getting fizzy on the tongue. But alcohol is under control. Cider apple, ginger ale. Amazing, oak is more present on the nose than on the palate.
Finish: Dry, spicy with a sweet aftertaste. Toffee apple maybe.
Comment: I was expecting more oak on the palate. A definite sherry influence. Fruit and wood are well integrated. Reminds me of calvados!
Score: 7.9
