Taster

Nose: A dusty start (sacking/cigar ash) with a hint of putty, then mellows into rum-soaked dried fruits. Sweet and slightly savoury. Becomes toffee-like.

Palate: Surprisingly light, but has creamy softness and firm oakiness. Clean, orange peel, toffee sauce.

Finish: Dry, slightly oak.

Comment: An extra layer of maturity. Sweet and ripe but holding age pretty well.

Score: 7.8

Taster

Nose: Fresh bread with butter and salad leaves. A picnic in a field of daisies.

Palate: Fresh, doughy bread with lashings of real butter.

Finish: Lemon marmalade, with bittersweet peel.

Comment: Normally thought of as a light malt but this is a rich, viscous expression.
