Nose
Marzipan, baked oranges, brown sugar, a bit of candle wax and vanilla bean are all there, but takes a bit of time to emerge from the glass.
Palate
Nutty: that marzipan almond note pulls through onto the palate but it’s richer here. There are Canadian butter tarts (lots of raisins and butter), alongside cinnamon spice. Hotter than anticipated, given the nose felt fairly gentle.
Finish
Short, with a spicy hit to tip of the tongue.
Comment
A pleasant enough whisky, but could have a bit more oomph on the palate, and a longer finish.
