Troy & Sons Platinum Whiskey

Nectarine & Honey

ABV 35%

It’s always difficult to score flavoured new make highly as by its very nature there is not much in the way of complexity. As they say, it is what it is! – Peachy Dog!

Taster

Nose: Pungent, oily with sour peach and straw. Faintly feinty with a developing lactose like note.

Palate: Sweet, oily and peachy. Again it develops a little sour fruit character and a slight feintiness.

Finish: Short and a bit confected with a slightly cloying after-taste.

Comment: It’s always difficult to score flavoured new make highly as by its very nature there is not much in the way of complexity. As they say, it is what it is! – Peachy Dog!

Taster

Nose: Peach, nectarines, honeycomb, not much sweetness coming through which is pleasant and surprising.

Palate: Fleshy nectarine and peach, lots of vanilla, a little hint of maple and honey. Not getting much power from it even though ABV at 35%.

Finish: Fleeting fresh fruits, short lived but fresh and with a lovely clean dry finish.

Comment: Surprised, a pleasure to imbibe, fresh fruits, not overly sweet, discreet. Lacking a bit of power though.
