Taster

Nose: Oil paints, pencil shavings, and lemon-lime boiled sweets. Tangerine juice, fresh fudge, and Cadbury’s Fruit and Nut.

Palate: Medium-full. Terry’s Chocolate Orange, toffee, and baked red apple.

Finish: Medium. The juicy fruits fade and chocolate orange remains.

Comment: A trip to the confectioner’s.

Taster

Nose: Sweet spiced carrot cake with cream-cheese filling. Caramel macchiato coffee. Toasted pecan and prune. A thick, oily strip of orange peel. A touch of salty Ibérico ham.

Palate: Full. Marmite and butter on wholemeal toast. Runny chocolate ganache and honeycomb pieces. Glacé cherry and bitter orange marmalade. Hints of strong espresso and sweet paprika.

Finish: Long, on marmalade and chocolate-dipped honeycomb. Parting hint of grassy spice.

Comment: Rich and balanced – couldn’t ask for much more.
