Tasting Notes

Taster

Nose: Pungent, intense, almost balsamic. Soot/wood embers, canvas, a hint of Arbroath smokie and grassy like a peat bank. Hairy chested.

Palate: Rounded with good weight and depth. Seaweedy and lightly medicinal, hint of cattlecake. The firm centre is tempered by cooked orchard fruit.

Finish: Sweet and slightly nutty. Smoke. Oatcake.

Comment: A punchy, deep malt. Good balance.

Score: 8.8
