Nose: Kicking off with delicate choux pastry and a freshly baked rye loaf, then it’s intriguing, with hot tyres on the road before things lighten up. It’s like the grass after it rains.

Palate: Returns to the breakfast vibe, with buttered croissants, small pots of red berry jam, honey and almond butter on rye toast. The hot rubber note continues gently.

Finish: That fresh grassy note is back, along with barley fields in the sun.

Comment: There’s a lot going on, but it’s all tied together and makes total sense.

Nose: Wet clay and chalk sweets. Hay, chamomile and hibiscus. Warm milk with honey. Dusty malt and oyster mushroom. Subtle watermelon. Edamame. Vanilla pod and fresh blueberry. Greek yoghurt over green apple slices.

Palate: Full. Bisongrass, cloudy apple juice and oatcakes. Vanilla sponge with butter icing and raspberry jam. Sweet soy milk. Whipped cream.

Finish: Medium-short. On vanilla and apple, with lingering malted milk drink.

Comment: A subtle one. Complexity and unusual notes hide behind the vanilla.
