The nose is lively and appetising but the palate is bland and lacks nerve.
5 Years Old
Nose: Malty. Vanilla toffee. Butterscotch. Mint chocolate. More vanilla as it opens up.
Palate: Round and sweet. Toffee apple, crème caramel. Gets watery at mid palate.
Finish: Smooth, short. Almondy aftertaste.
Comment: The nose is lively and appetising but the palate is bland and lacks nerve.
Nose: Fat. We're back at the suet pudding again with an added yeasty note,\rbanana bread and honey.
Palate: Similar to the nose with added plum pudding roundness. It does however lose its shape completely with water (so avoid).
Finish: Long (when neat) and rounded.
Comment: A perfectly pleasant and slightly plump dram.
