Tasting Notes

Taster

Nose: Sweet smokiness, bit of pineapple on the barbeque, caramel and earthy swamp notes. A little menthol, bubblegum squashies, and hazelnut.

Palate: Clothes after a bonfire, damp bark, gooseberries, undiluted elderflower cordial, finely chopped hazelnut and milk chocolate, fiery ginger spice.

Finish: Ginger and fruit and nut bar, some grassiness too.

Comment: An interesting journey through smoke, sweetness, earthiness and back again.

Score: 8.1

Taster

Nose: Dusty malting floor and a barrel of apples. Some vanilla cookies and apricot jam. Honey nut cereal and fried pork belly. Tinned grapefruit and peach segments in syrup. Victoria sponge with butter icing.

Palate: Medium-light bodied. Lots of candied lemon and orange gummy sweets. Slightly oily. Sweet liquorice tea, with honey.

Finish: Medium-short and gently drying, on those orange and lemon notes, before green apple skin asserts itself.

Comment: A fruity number that’d go well in a summery cocktail.
