1988, Aged 16 Year, Cask Strength
Year of Bottling
Nose: Tinned pears, parma ham, aniseed, lemon balm, grass and a little earthiness. Lime juice.
Palate: Lemon sorbet, biscuits and a sweet meatiness.
Finish: A light toffeeness.
Comment: Speyside style.
Nose: Dried fruits, little musty, tinned prune, damp earth, hint of meat stock. The lurking sweetness is brought out by water.
Palate: Quite concentrated, orange Spangles, nougat. A slight fizzy quality which leads into (pink) marshmallow. Shows finesse and good balance.
Finish: Long, clean hint of smoke.
Comment: Good weight of spirit, but needs more from the cask to make it great.
