Taster

Nose: Turps mixed with mint cordial cut with some form of embrocation. Becomes more sugary with time and then rye, highly perfumed rye at that.

Palate: That oily almost soapy quality but here it's accompanied by a scattergun of allspice clove and maraschino, grippy and powerful.

Finish: Hot.

Comment: It packs a wallop but too intense for me.

Taster

Nose: Very unusual. A mix of pine and eucalyptus. Almost medicinal. A huge whiff of caraway. Far far behind, a fruity note. Sour apple.

Palate: Sweet at start then bitter and oaky. Even grippy. A touch of overcooked\rdamson jam.

Finish: Dry, bitter, oaky.

Comment: An old bourbon or rye? It has stayed too much in casks. Oak has taken the control. Too bad because there is some goodness under.
