Nose: Really floral, with honeysuckle, jasmine and roses dominating. Elevenses in a carpenter’s workshop – Ceylon tea (he’s a posh carpenter, alright?), juicy orange segments, mandarin and chocolate cake, drifts of sawdust.
Palate: Zippy rye sings out clearly yet pleasantly, with hay, chocolate cake mix, orange zest and butter richness. Jasmine \r\nand roses on the mid-palate, dissipating into chocolate.
Finish: Dry rye bread and dark chocolate.
Comment: Solid sipped neat, or mixed in a Sazerac.

Taster
Nose: Hugely floral with a dusty note to it. Walking into a florists – rose, peony and lilies – with a basket of fruit, citrus (orange and lemon) shine through. Dark rye bread and a linseed oil quality.
Palate: A punch from the rye then smoothed over by dark honey, cherries in chocolate. Rich with those floral notes from the nose.
Finish: The rye dominates leaving dryness and spice.
Comment: A good punchy rye, with decent depth. A slow sipper or a foil for a pickleback. Good stuff.
Score: 8
