Tasting Notes

Taster

Nose: Exotic and plump, slightly yeasty with sultana and spices (Peshwari Naan??) then coconut cream, Madeira cake, crème brûlée and sugar candy.

Palate: Oakier and spicier than the nose suggests. The soft red fruit/honey hidden slightly. Dry.

Finish: A little woody.

Comment: An amazingly sexy nose, but disappoints slightly on the palate.

Score: 7.5

Taster

Nose: Potpourri. Leafy, cedary, oaky.

Palate: Creamy, fudgy, flavours. Berry fruits emerging, then fruity, plum-skin acidity.

Finish: Cooked plums. Fruit pies. Smoky.

Comment: Plenty of dimension. The acidity makes it especially appetising and drinkable, and potentially an accompaniment to food. Bring on the barbecue.
