The nose delivers more than the palate. Once more, oak overwhelms fruit and bitterly dries the finish.

Nose: Spirity. Prickly. Herbal. Jasmine tea. Cider apple. Dessert-like aromas. Ginger biscuit. Trifle. Maraschino cherry. Shortcrust pastry.

Palate: Firm, crisp. Good feel. Creamy. Coffee toffee. Bitter orange marmalade. Ginger.

Finish: Medium. Quickly fading. A bit thin. Smoked hazelnuts. Becoming astringent.

Comment: The nose delivers more than the palate. Once more, oak overwhelms fruit and bitterly dries the finish.

Score: 7.5

Taster

Nose: Clean and light. Gentle grated nutmeg, cumin, vellum, roasting coffee bean then into honeycomb (Crunchie bars). Rose petal.

Palate: A clean very honeyed palate with a crisp spice from the oak which then softens into melted chocolate.

Finish: A zippy lift which freshens everything. Vetiver. Sandalwood.

Comment: You could sit and suck on a bottle of this all day long. Worryingly drinkable.
