Nose: Full on rye spice and pep. Cedar cigar boxes and a lovely peppery tingle. Fruit comes in, apples and pears cooked down and served with almond flakes, toasted and chocolate laden granola.
Palate: Huge spices, with layers of cloves, pepper and cinnamon. Then a deep rich molasses depth, dark treacle toffees and just a hint of smoke.
Finish: Sweetness with honey madeleine cakes and those spices. Just keeps giving.

Nose: Just what you expect from a rye. Straight off the bat; spice and a peppery tang. Gets a little funky with some floral hits.
Palate: Again, just what you would expect from a rye. Cinnamon, pepper, it all just lines up and waits to shake you by the hand. A faint ash hangs around the roof of your mouth, but balances nicely.
Finish: More and more of the spice. A little bit like an iced cinnamon bun.
Comment: Doesn't shock, but why should it? Just straight forward rye whiskey that delivers on its promises.
Score: 8.6
