Standard (Distillery or blended)
Nose: This gives off the impression of a bitters, with a maceration of cloves, juniper, orange peel and lime zest. Much more of a cocktail ingredient than a sipping product.
Palate: Spices give balance to the nose, and the wood takes control in a musty, old fashioned way. This is more biker leather than vintage leather. More Harley Davidson than Vesper. \n
Finish: Not as complex as I’d hoped, but bold and forthright. \n
Comment: Jumps about a bit too much. Still needs a little longer to mellow.
Nose: Young, but not spirity and very peppery with woody rye-like notes, hints of wheat flakes and green citrus fruit. Slightly herbal with a touch of burnt caramel corn and sweet oak.
Palate: Opens with soft but herbal rye-like notes, followed by fat corn and hints of dark chocolate, burnt caramel and drying? wood spices.
Finish: Long and spicy with lingering corn and light herbal marc-like notes.
Comment: Quite well developed showing complexity and balance.
