Tasting Notes

Taster

Nose: Peat takes its time to filter through temple spices, burnt heather and warmed leather. A hint of bitter olive as well.

Palate: Warm and earthy. Slightly coal dusty with sumptuous cake and dried fruit notes.

Finish: Takes its time to show its true colours.

Comment: Another belter from Yoichi. Good stuff.

Score: 8.6

Taster

Nose: Orange zest, incense and peat smoke. A shrine on Islay.Fleshy fruits, black olive with assertive smoke, buddleia, hardtoffee and roasting sweet spice. The balsamic note suggests age.

Palate: Big smoke and a solid mix of fruit cake and tarred twine. Substantial and complex, though needing a touch of water to show it's got a gentle and fruity side.

Finish: A smooth build-up of all the complexities on the palate.

Comment: Refined, bold but elegant. Buy one.
